**About the Team**

The** Insurance Manager** is key member of the Legal & Commercial team, who are spread across multiple locations - Redbank facility (MILVEHCOE), Melbourne and Adelaide offices. They work collaboratively together to support various parts of Rheinmetall’s Australian and New Zealand operations on all Legal Commercial matters.

**About the Role**

The **Insurance Manager **is a key member of the Legal & Commercial team responsible for the administration, maintenance and ongoing operation of Rheinmetall’s Australian and New Zealand insurance program in conjunction with the Rheinmetall Groups’ local and international brokerage houses and Dusseldorf based insurance division.

This role will be required to build strong relationships with both local and overseas stakeholders, acting as the insurance SME within RDA and a sole initial point-of-contact throughout Rheinmetall’s Australian and New Zealand operations on all insurance related queries.

- **anticipate** some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

- Assessment of business product and project pipelines to ensure early identification of insurable risks alongside RDA’s Risk Lead;
- Lead the annual local insurance program renewal process and administration of the program throughout the premium year;
- Management and administration of insured claims, with the support of RDA’s Legal team;
- Support and assist the Procurement team with insurance audits of key suppliers’ insurance programs;
- Advise RDA’s Subcontract’s Team on appropriate insurance risk mitigation strategies for specific suppliers; and
- Development of policies, procedures, processes and associated templates relating to the business’ insurance program, and best practice insurance methodologies.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
Essential:

- Experience managing a corporate insurance program either in-house or as a client facing broker;
- Experience managing insurance claims from the notification stage through to settlement and subrogated recovery;
- An understanding and ability to interpret and modify contracts, specifically as they relate to insurance obligations imposed upon counterparties;
- An ability to assist in the development and delivery of insurance processes and training to a diverse range of key internal stakeholders;
- Demonstrated experience communicating insurance concepts and program strategies at Board level;
- Ability to travel interstate and internationally (annually); and
- The ability to gain and hold an appropriate Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Desirable:

- Experience in manufacturing and/or Defence Industry;
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Law, Risk Management or an equivalent discipline;
- Tier 1 / Tier 2 insurance broking qualifications;
- Experience with inwards-facing multinational insurance programs; and
- Knowledge of ASDEFCON contracting requirements for insurance.
