**The role**
This is an exciting opportunity where you will have an opportunity to be involved in the team supporting the transition of the health insurance industry to the new capital framework.
You will also coach and mentor a team of professionals who are engaged and highly motivated. You will support the team by providing technical advice and support on the interpretation of prudential standards, approving capital instruments, complex entity matters and targeted technical reviews and analysis.
The role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that shape the practices and prudential regulation of insurers. You will collaborate with a wide range of industry stakeholders, building your knowledge across the industry as well as working with cross practice and cross industry experts on specific, technical problems.
While leading our team of professionals who are experts in their field the role will also be responsible for:
- Coaching, mentoring, and leading a team of health insurance specialists
- Play an integral role in shaping our culture, supporting our people, and preparing APRA for the future
- Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver quality insurance and actuarial advice
- Contributing to the development of prudential standards and guidelines
- Assessing insurer practices to address key risks, which includes undertaking off-site and on-site reviews
- Developing and implementing activities that contribute to sound supervision outcomes pursuant to the APRA mandate.
