**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Renowned Winery Bimbadgen Estate in the Hunter Valley is seeking an experienced Distiller to join the Wine & Distillery production and tasting team

With the introduction of a world class Copper Pot Still at the Winery and the creation of their spirits brand, Freshwater Spirits, the Bimbadgen team are keen to welcome a team member who will lead distillery production, work with and assist in production in the winery and drive the growth of the Spirits brand

Key Responsibilities of the role include;
- Oversee the day-to-day production of distillery products
- To contribute to the creation of new products in conjunction with chief winemaker and Spirits team
- To produce a production schedule with Chief winemaker and produce range of products in accordance with the schedule
- To ensure all products produced adhere to our established quality control policies and procedures.
- Work with the Chief winemaker in ordering raw materials
- To ensure our production site and equipment adhere to our safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain distillery operating procedures, production manuals and procedures.
- Contribute to the training and development of the Cellar door team in tasting and sales
- Assist in the creation of a dedicated Spirit based tasting experience
- Assist the winery team 1 day a week and during busy vintage periods
- Support the WHS committee

Your Time will be split between 3 days/week distillery, 1 day/week winery, 1 day/week tasting and sales in both Business to Business and Business to Consumer based scenarios (ie cellar door). Working a Tuesday - Saturday roster

**YOUR BACKGROUND**
- Knowledge of the spirits production, in particular gin
- Food science and or wine/distillery science education preferred
- Proficient in computer admin
- Current forklift licence would be desirable but not essential
- Keen interest in wine and making an advantage but not essential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organised and diligent with a high attention to detail
- Self-motivated, and ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a team
- Ability to work to deadlines, KPI’s and manage competing priorities
