**About the Role**:
Murri Sisters Mobile Support Service (MSMSS) is dedicated to reducing domestic & family violence (DFV) in our community.
MSMSS is a service of the non-profit organisation, Five Bridges Ltd. Five Bridges is an established not-for-profit organisation, born from a passion to assist local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a hand on, feet to the ground manner that will see our local communities flourish.
The entire Five Bridges team is dedicated to this vision, as best expressed in our purpose statement:
- To provide a range of culturally sound activities and initiatives that build capacity, supporting the social norms and behaviors that constitute a positive, proud and responsible Indigenous community._
The MSMSS works in collaboration with key stake holders and affiliated services that respond to domestic and family violence. We maintain strong connections with our traditions and strong ties to our traditional homelands.
We work within a cultural respect framework to provide mobile support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, their children and young people who are experiencing domestic and family violence.
The primary responsibility of the Support Worker is to ensure that the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous women and their children are met while receiving MSMSS support.
**Essential Selection Criteria**
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Unrestricted Queensland Driver's License
- Own reliable transport
- Current Holder of Commission for Children & Young People Blue Card.
- First Aid Certificate
- Possess or currently undertaking a vocational training qualification e.g. Diploma / Cert III in the area of Community Services
- A strong commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children and families that are experiencing all risk factors related and linked to domestic and family violence.
**Key Responsibility Areas**
The Key responsibility areas are the major outputs for which the position is responsible and are not a comprehensive statement of the position activities.
**Client Focussed Service delivery**:
- Develop client focus goals for each woman and family
- Ensure all verbal and written communication is congruent with a strengths-based approach
- Respond immediately and appropriately to any situation where a client's safety is threatened
**Case Management**:
- Ensure all security procedures (Matrix) are followed during the intake process and throughout the intervention process
- Ensure all referral, intake and goal setting documents are completed on first meeting
- Ensure all clients documents are completed and filed and locked in a filing cabinet
- Ensure goals are regularly reviewed and documented and updated
- Deliver the appropriate suite of interventions as discussed with the Team Leader
- Provide monthly workshops for client and children (if not of school age)
- Ensure referrals are completed to external services such as GROW SUPPORT, ATSICHS, MURRIGUNYAH, WOMAN AND CO etc.
- Evaluate each case at staff meetings on a weekly basis
- PPR case notes are required on a quarterly basis and given to Team Leader
- Ensure exit forms are completed on exit
- Ship notes are filed in client files
- Case notes are updated daily/weekly and filed in client's folder
- Ensure all closed clients files are filed in a lockable cabinet in the office
**Communication**:
- Use respectful and inclusive language when communicating verbally and written form
- Ensure all communication complies with organisations Values, Policies, and Procedures
- Involve relevant people in the discussion and decision-making processes
- Be aware of and develop networks and establish positive relationships with other agencies to facilitate client access to required services
- Work collaboratively, openly, and respectfully with services that are jointly involved with client/family
**Team Member**:
- Liaise with Team Leader and other team members
- Participate in the development of program policy and practice guidelines
- Attend team meetings
- Contribute to discussion and decision
- making processes
- Contribute to case planning meetings
- Maintain and enhance professionals and personal skills through training, supervision, team support and reflective practice
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other service and providers, government departments and community
- Consistently adopt strategies and follow procedures developed by the team
- Relay relevant information to colleagues regarding support provision of clients
- Work within team goals and consistently with the strategic goals of the organisation
- Arrange collection of donations from network services
**Compliance**:
