**Your new company**
An Australian transport company are currently looking to add a Work Health Safety Manager to their team on a permanent basis. This role will allow some working from home.
**Your new role**
The purpose of this role is to promote workplace safety initiatives across the company through planning, directing, and implementing the company's WHS programs. The WHSM will be responsible for developing and leading a team of trusted safety professionals to drive change.
Responsibilities include:
- Strategically manage, deliver, and implement safety projects and improvement plans
- Ensuring a high-performance and motivated team within the WHS department
- Coach and mentor managers, supervisors, and employees to achieve workplace safety objectives
- Planning and participating in implementation of safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Proactively identifying safety requirements and delivering solutions
- Participating and facilitating incident investigation and closure
- Monitoring compliance of all policies, procedures, systems and services
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Minimum Cert IV in WHS
- Have 3-5 years’ experience within a Safety Department
- Transport experience preferred or blue-collar experience highly desirable
- Have negotiation and influencing skills
