Due to continual growth, we are seeking a motivated and energetic purchasing officer, who plays a critical role in the business by ensuring that the company obtains the necessary goods and services in a timely manner, at the best possible price while also maintaining high quality standards and strong supplier relationships.

**TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Identifying the business’s procurement needs and requirements.
- Forecast and purchase to maintain inventory levels to enable reliable supply, whilst maintaining efficient stock turns.
- Researching and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors.
- Requesting and analysing quotations and proposals from suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, pricing and quality.
- Check purchase requisitions for approvals and appropriate authority limits.
- Monitor and resolve all reported discrepancies, coverage, shortage, and damaged goods and or materials.
- Reviewing all procurement procedures and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Work with other departments to ensure that the company's procurement needs are met (develop purchasing plans and find potential vendors/partners).
- Managing relationships with suppliers and resolving any issues or disputes.
- Monitoring and tracking supplier performance and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as finance and operations teams, to ensure procurement needs are met.
- Conducting market research and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Implementing cost-saving strategies and optimising procurement processes.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to procurement activities.

***ABOUT YOU**:
**To be successful for this role applicants must**:

- Be reliable with high attendance record.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Purchasing / Procurement position.
- Be able to prioritise high volume of work and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Have excellent time management skills.
- Have exceptional planning and organisational skills.
- Be a team player.
- Have a positive can-do attitude, willingness to learn.
- Have the ability to develop positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrate Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office suit especially Excel.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
- Have full working rights in Australia.
