**YOUR ROLE**

IGO is a growing mining and exploration company with 3 operational mines, a 170-person corporate office and an exploration team working across Australia in regional and remote settings. The key to their success is underpinned by the quality and reliability of our technical systems and security and our ability to resolve issues as they arise.

As the Occupational Hygiene Technician, you will provide input into the coordination of occupational hygiene across IGO operational sites and build in house capability to deliver the health and hygiene management program.

The occupational hygiene technician role is designed to be a technical resource, engaged with the site teams, and providing support to the Work Health & Safety (WHS) departments.

Your key accountabilities will include:
Role Specific:

- Complete personal monitoring programs for airborne contaminant & noise as outlined in our HMPs including associated reporting via Safety Regulation System (SRS);
- Conduct qualitative exposure assessments, health risk assessments and control assessment tasks (based upon the hierarchy of controls);
- Support the execution of Respiratory Protection Fit testing and Hearing Protection Fit Testing program;
- Work with site medical teams to execute health surveillance and biological monitoring activities;
- administration of the collection and storage of occupational hygiene data;
- Administration and coordination of the the maintenance and calibration of fit testing and monitoring equipment; and,
- Engage, communicate and educate company leaders and workers on health hazards and their management.

**YOUR EXPERIENCE**

- Current ‘C’ Class Manual Drivers License;
- Experience in a similar role in the mining and resources sector, heavy industry or an underground environment will be highly regarded;
- Provisional member of the AIOH (minimum);
- Mine Air Quality Technician or Mine Air Quality Officer (desirable);
- Approved Noise Officer (desirable);
- Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene Certificate and RESPFIT Certification (desirable);
- Previous experience with Cority (or Medgate), INX, GRC or Health and hygiene data management systems and Safety Regulation System (desirable); and,
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
