GCG is on the lookout for an Occupational Hygiene Technician to join our West-Coast team in 2025. This is a practical, hands-on role where you'll be out in the field, working alongside clients to identify and control workplace health risks. No two days are the same, you could be monitoring dust at a mine site one week and testing noise levels in a manufacturing plant the next.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Technician, you'll:

  • Monitor hazards such as dust, chemicals, noise and vibration.
  • Conduct respiratory and hearing protection fit testing.
  • Carry out site inspections and assess existing controls.
  • Collect and record field data, then assist with report preparation.
  • Travel to sites across the West Coast (some overnight stays).

This is an entry-level position – we'll teach you the technical skills you need and provide a clear career pathway to grow within the industry.

What We're Looking For

  • An interest in workplace health, science, or WHS.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work in different environments.
  • Manual driver's licence.

Extra points for (but not essential):

  • Relevant WHS or science qualifications.
  • Membership (or eligibility) with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH).
