Seeking an experienced Security Supervisor for a long-term role with a State Government department

**Your new company**

A major State Government department based in East Perth, is seeking an experienced Security Supervisor to lead the Security team and manage all security operations for the department. This department is based conveniently to public transport, as well as nearby paid parking facilities. You will be required to work full-time hours Monday to Friday, and will initially be engaged on a temporary basis. This is a long-term opportunity, and the department have hope in appointing the successful person onto a fixed-term contract, should all go well.

**Your new role**

As the Security Supervisor you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 12, ensuring daily operations are in place and obtaining full security of the department. Your duties in this role will include:

- Supervise, lead and manage the security team, providing mentorship and implementing performance management as needed
- Assist in the on-boarding and training of new staff members in the security team
- Manage the staff roster, ensuring that there is adequate staff coverage at all times
- Delegate responsibilities across the team
- Manage the security team for upcoming department events
- Ensure incidents are raised in the appropriate security system platforms, and lodge incident reports as needed
- Facilitate weekly toolbox meetings for the team
- Ensure that correct workplace health and safety is being carried out by the team at all times

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to be considered for this role you must display previous experience within a Security Supervisor / Management position. In addition, you will have:

- A Certificate II or III in Security Operations
- Demonstrated experience in training and mentoring staff
- Demonstrated understanding on basic workplace health and safety
- Strong communication skills with confidence in managing a team efficiently
- The ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and department Security Clearance, if deemed successful after interview
- Excellent initiative with strong problem-solving skills
