The Academic Governance Officer is a part of the broader Governance team that supports the business by ensuring the College’s governance processes provide our board directors, staff, offshore partners, and current and future students with accurate and relevant information they require to make informed decisions. We play an oversight role, undertaking audits and ensuring processes are in place to monitor actions, policies and decisions, and that the business operations are compliant with corporate and education regulatory bodies, legislation and other frameworks.

**About your next role**:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Academic Governance Officer to join our collaborative and accomplished Governance team.

The role reports to the Associate Director, Academic Governance & Quality, and you will work closely with the Education business unit operation teams, offshore partners and the Monash University Admissions team to ensure admissions queries are managed, and information provided to students is clear, current and informative. Management of student appeals and privacy related questions are also important aspects of this role.

**About You**:
You will be a pragmatic professional who can provide advice that is backed up with logical reasoning. You will also ideally have:

- Experience in the Higher Education or the international student education sector and current knowledge of the Higher Education Threshold Standards, the ESOS Act and National Code.
- Knowledge of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and experience with Standards for Registered Training Organisations and RTO compliance activities.
- Deep experience providing a secretariat service to boards and/or committees, understanding of operational relationships and working with senior members of staff.
- Experience with developing and reviewing policies and processes.
- Experience working with and empathy for different cultures.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Superior attention to detail.
