**About the Department**
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
**About the Division**
The People Strategy and Operations (VPS) Division is responsible for managing HR operations and providing strategic support for both corporate staff and accommodation services. It oversees corporate environments, sustainability initiatives, payroll, recruitment, policy development, workplace relations, and workforce management. Operating under a values-based framework, the division prioritises meeting client needs and improving policies and processes, to deliver on our corporate responsibilities.
It is an exciting time to join the People Services branch, which manages payroll, people operations, talent acquisition and HR services with the goal of attracting and retaining top talent, whilst nurturing a culture of high performance and innovation. The branch is currently implementing a new innovative operating model to introduce more efficient work methods and enhance its service delivery to the business.
**About the Role**
Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment and as one of two Assistant Managers, this role will work within a supportive and collaborative team environment and empower the team to provide accurate, efficient and customer-focused end-to-end recruitment services to the department's corporate workforce.
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and people-focused HR leader to effectively lead a team in the delivery of high-quality HR services to clients. This role's responsibilities will include:
- Driving recruitment team performance in a fast-paced environment
- Resolving complex recruitment and HR issues with interpretation of relevant policies and procedures
- Effective and efficient management of escalated recruitment and HR issues
- Developing and fostering key stakeholder relationships
- Innovating and implementing strategic change management and governance
- Driving and sustaining a positive, collaborative and client-focused team culture

- Possess experience in leading a team within a fast-paced recruitment environment
- Harness people-focused leadership capabilities to support and motivate team members
- Have experience in developing team capability through training and development
- Demonstrate expertise in overseeing complex and varied HR operations

**Desirable**Qualifications and Experience**
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources is desirable. Previous experience in recruitment leadership and/or similar role alongside prior use of ServiceNow or Springboard would be advantageous.
