**About the Department**

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

**About the Division**

The People Strategy and Operations (VPS) Division is responsible for managing HR operations and providing strategic support for both corporate staff and accommodation services. It oversees corporate environments, sustainability initiatives, payroll, recruitment, policy development, workplace relations, and workforce management. Operating under a values-based framework, the division prioritises meeting client needs and improving policies and processes, to deliver on our corporate responsibilities.

It is an exciting time to join the People Services branch, which manages payroll, people operations, talent acquisition and HR services with the goal of attracting and retaining top talent, whilst nurturing a culture of high performance and innovation. The branch is currently implementing a new innovative operating model to introduce more efficient work methods and enhance its service delivery to the business.

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced, people-focused and transformational Recruitment Manager to lead a team in the delivery of high volume, high-level service corporate recruitment across the department.
- Lead and mentor a dedicated recruitment team in providing guidance and support to hiring managers throughout end-to-end merit-based recruitment processes.
- Develop and foster collaborative relationships with internal client groups to understand their specific, complex recruitment needs and challenges.
- Implement best practices for sourcing, screening, and onboarding top talent.
- Analyse and utilise recruitment metrics to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.

- Proven experience in recruitment, with a track record of managing a high-performing team.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Familiarity with recruitment tools and applicant tracking systems.
- A strategic mindset with a passion for fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

**Desirable **Qualifications and Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or relevant field is desirable.
- Experience in state government recruitment or applicable recruitment systems would be advantageous.
