The Atlassian Design System helps teams to create simple, intuitive, beautiful and harmonious experiences from our self service guidelines, reusable components and platform capabilities which allows us to grow our impact. Our design language is the cornerstone of the work done by all makers (designers and frontend developers) in the company allowing our product teams to create experiences more efficiently, and our customers to move work forward using familiar components across every product touchpoint.

We're hiring a Lead Product Designer, reporting to the Head of Design for UI Platform. You are a Lead Product Designer specialising in Design Systems with a background in UI design, brand, and digital UX design.

**What you'll do**:

- Design and deliver beautiful solutions which supports our design system UI Foundations, components and service experience of using the Atlassian Design System
- Partner with other design leaders, design managers and cross-functional partners to scope, plan, propose approaches and achieve outcomes through your leadership
- Mentor, coach and share your design system mastery with other product designers on the team to grow the team forwards
- Achieve success for our makers (designers and developers) by designing elegant solutions which meets their needs from a design system improving our customer satisfaction, adoption and successful roll out of our projects
- Manage projects that you lead and ensure outcomes are also achieved through others in your team.

**Your background**:

- UX/product design experience, designing complex or enterprise-level software
- Facilitation and collaboration skills: you can demonstrate the ability to work with multiple teams, solicit and summarise feedback, and facilitate design discussions
- Background in visual design, digital design, front end development, systems design, enterprise design of large-scale where a design system has been applied
- Success with designing, creating, working with developers/engineering to launch design systems at scale which have high impact
