We have an exceptional opportunity for you to join the City of Melville as an Assistant Building Surveyor where you will have the unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field. This can be done while pursuing your building surveyor qualification which the City will be able to provide study assistance for in accordance with our Learning & Development procedure.

**Your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to;**
- Providing excellent customer service to our community on general building enquiries in accordance with the City’s established policies and practices including the review of Building Applications for completion.
- Maintaining accurate building records and information systems.
- Collaborating with the team to ensure consistent adherence to policies and practices, all while providing exceptional customer service.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Certificate III in Business Administration or similar or equivalent relevant experience.
- Commitment to obtain a Construction Induction Card (White card) upon being offered the role.
- High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Well-developed decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.

**Desirable Requirements**:

- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
