An exciting opportunity is available to work with one of the molecular genetic leaders in its field. You will work within a brand-new facility as part of a large department working alongside clinical professionals, researchers and scientists. The Cytogenetics laboratory department is seeking an experienced cytogenetics scientist to join their team.

**Salary $80,000 - $90,000 per annum**

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Performing Karyotyping analysis using software as well as light microscopy work
- Logging Specimens, Blood Lymphocyte culturing, harvesting, slide making and GTG-Banding
- Contribute to validation, evaluation and documentation of new tests and assays.
- Assist with the preparation for NATA
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.

**Role requirements**:

- Understanding of Cytogenetic procedures and chromosome analysis a
- Minimum 2 years experience in a clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory
- Bachelor’s degree relevant to pathology or equivalent. Masters or MHGSA is highly desirable.
- Familiar with Metasytems Software
- Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Display a high level of communication and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
