**Support Governance Manager**
**About the role**
Join our newly created Legal and Governance department as a Support Governance Manager, where you'll play a key role in executing first-line governance activities across Youi’s Support functions. In this role, you'll lead a team of governance, risk & compliance professionals who provide essential support in risk management, compliance, assurance, and specialised governance services.
We’re looking for a seasoned leader, ideally with a background in financial services or insurance. You'll need to navigate the complexities of six executive divisions, knowing when to focus on the details and when to step back for a broader view.
This role offers significant exposure to a range of specialist functions, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact on how we govern critical areas of the business.
**Ways of working**
This position can be situated at either our headquarters on the Sunshine Coast or in our Fortitude Valley office.
We operate with a hybrid approach, requiring office presence from Tuesday to Thursday at either location, while offering the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
If based in Brisbane, some travel to HQ will be required.
**Key priorities**
- Lead the implementation and operation of Risk Management and Compliance frameworks across Youi’s Support functions.
- Maintain ongoing stakeholder communication to ensure alignment on risk and compliance.
- Stay updated on relevant compliance obligations.
- Oversee control design, implementation, and effectiveness for Youi’s Support functions.
- Lead regular monitoring and assurance testing activities.
- Provide targeted specialised governance services (e.g., Finance, Product or Actuarial governance services).
- Support "Accountable Persons" in meeting Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) obligations.
- Share timely data to guide governance decisions and priorities.
- Uplift first-line governance practices for better outcomes.
- Proactively manage risks, report incidents, and drive improvements.
- Embed a strong risk culture within Legal and Governance teams and Youi.
**About you**
- Leadership experience in governance, risk, or compliance (5+ years is a general indicator).
- Degree in business, risk, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven leadership in financial services (preferred).
- In-depth expertise in corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
- Effective communicator and leader skilled in influencing and motivating teams.
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated critical thinking abilities.
- High integrity and a strong sense of professional accountability.
**How to apply**
Our Internal Talent Acquisition team exclusively manages all hiring processes, and we do not accept unsolicited resumes directed to hiring managers.
