If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Behaviour Support Practitioner across the Gympie & Sunshine Coast regions.

**About the Opportunity**:
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner with Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) you will deliver evidence-based clinical guidance and play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for individuals living with disabilities. We work closely with complex clients of all ages, diagnoses, and behaviours to foster supportive environments which promote personal growth with a focus on restrictive practice reduction.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Developing interim behaviour support plans, and comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support Plans, which may include the use of restrictive practices, for adults, children, and young people with complex and challenging behaviours.
- Conducting Functional Behavioural Assessments and formulation of person-centered and holistic strategies tailored to the unique needs of each individual, with a focus on enhancing their quality of life.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and allied health professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to support and care.
- Coaching and supporting stakeholders, including family and support teams to empower them in implementing behaviour support strategies.

**What you need**:

- **Current suitability and registration - confirmed by NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission - as a core practitioner or above.**:

- **A tertiary qualification in allied health, social or behavioural science (or working towards)**.
- Have a minimum of 12 months experience in providing behaviour support with challenging behaviour and intellectual disabilities.
- An understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, principles, and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Commitment to person-centered approaches and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
- Proactive attitude, motivated by the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas.
- Hold a current Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or be willing to obtain.
- Hold a current unrestricted Driver's License.
