APS 6 equivalent opportunity for a motivated, experienced and creative individual to fulfil to role of Senior Officer External Communications within the passionate Communications team of a high-profile and highly regarded National Regulatory Body.

Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and communication.

This is initially a 6 month labour hire APS 6 equivalent contract opportunity to showcase your communications skills, with the genuine potential for extension. Central Canberra location with flexibility to work 2 days from home.

**Key Duties**:

- Developing strong and productive working relationships with business areas to enhance strategic communications planning
- Providing advice and supporting communications and consultation activities through digital and social channels and mainstream media
- Creating engaging content, meeting Plain English and accessibility requirements to support policy development, industry regulation and international engagement across industry
- Planning and implementing event and sponsorship opportunities in line with organisational policy and procedure
- Managing and supporting media engagement to promote organisational initiatives and protect the organisation's reputation
- Effectively liaising with other relevant government agencies including for clearance of external and media content
- Using data to evaluate and report on the effectiveness of communications activities.

**Key Requirements**:

- Relevant experience working in strategic communications, consultation or events management
- Tertiary qualifications in a communication, public relations or a journalism discipline;
- Demonstrated experience in planning, managing, and executing projects, campaigns, events, and/or consultations;
- Highly developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience of stakeholder engagement; and,
