**The Role**
GWEO HQ Contractor Workforce team are looking for a highly motivated Contract Management Officer with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoys working as part of a dedicated and dynamic team. In our organisation, this position will lead a team of APS 5 Contract Officer(s) to deliver the contracting support services that sit across the GWEO Group.

Within the Contract Management function, an APS 6 Contract Management Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex contract management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. The APS 6 Contract Management Officer will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work.

The APS 6 Contract Management Officer will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholder’s needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. There may be some domestic business travel associated with this position.

The Workforce Management Directorate is an integral part of GWEO Group Head Quarters that provides workforce support to Delivery Division and Capability Development Division that make up GWEO Group. Our team is a flexible group of contract and procurement personnel that assist in providing contractors from various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services) across GWEO Group. GWEO Group is located in Canberra, Penrith, Amberley, Rockingham, Benalla, Mulwalla and Melbourne and focused on acquiring and sustaining guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force.
