Organisation/Entity: Transport For NSW- Job Category: Projects- Job Location: Sydney, NSW, AU, 2000- Job Ref No: 66613- Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time- Salary Range: An attractive remuneration package**About us**
Transport for NSW keeps our State moving by providing safe, integrated and efficient transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do - and we do a lot. We connect people, communities and industry and manage how they use our road, rail and maritime networks and services, and even active modes like walking and cycling. The work we do connects the journeys you take every day.
We are a state government organisation made up of more than 28,000 people and we're in the middle of delivering the largest transport infrastructure program in Australia's history. We work across planning, policy and procurement, harnessing data and technology to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.
That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW - you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.
**The Division**
Cities and Active Transport is a new Division within Transport for NSW and is focused on creating great places.
We ensure cities and neighbourhoods are integrated with transport, making places, streets and open spaces functional, beautiful, inclusive and inviting for all to enjoy. This is achieved by working with our key partners to create alignment across government on strategic outcomes and a focus on quality design and great placemaking.
Transport is one of the largest NSW agencies with a significant remit across the state. It’s an incredibly exciting time to come into Transport - with unprecedented investment of $72.3 billion over 4 years and a once-in-a-generation opportunity to improve the lives of millions of people in NSW.
The creation of Cities and Active Transport gives us the opportunity to make a material difference to the way people live their lives. With an elevated focus on city integration and place, we have the opportunity to drive more value for the people of NSW by continuing to champion and deliver thoughtful, strategic and fully integrated placemaking. Cities and Active Transport brings together placemaking, parks and active transport specialists into the one team, creating a melting pot of thought leaders, industry experience and passionate people to innovate and challenge the status quo.
**The Team**
The Cities Integration Unit is being established to work with key partners across TfNSW, the cluster (Greater Cities Commission and Infrastructure NSW) and government (primarily the Department of Planning and Environment and Treasury) to align priorities and strategies to ensure we are creating integrated cities and resolving city-shaping issues collaboratively.
