Help Desk Application Support Technician

**About the business and the role** Cheap as Chips is an Australian retail success story. We are a leading discount variety retailer with 51 large format stores throughout South Australia, regional Victoria, NSW, and Queensland, employing over 1,000 people. We are currently seeking to fill the full-time position of a Help Desk & Application Support Technician to support existing platforms as well as develop new features and respond to business requests and requirements. Cheap as Chips encourages a positive and fun workplace culture, one that fosters hard work, professional growth, and team spirit with the longevity of service amongst Cheap as Chips employees being testament to this. **Job tasks and responsibilities** The first line problem solver for internal customers Answering and managing helpdesk requests Managing, prioritising and escalating of helpdesk tickets in the system Data management of pricing and barcode information Data entry of volume discounts Maintaining staff information on software and security systems Maintenance and support of key business software and hardware Testing of in-store equipment Monitoring of store infrastructure to pre-empt issues Involved in store setup and installation Preventative maintenance visits to stores Providing some after-hours support to the business Recommending courses of action to improve efficiencies **Skills and experience** The right person for this role will have the following skills: Good communication Focussed on delivering best service to customers Strong analytical skills Be a team player Ability to multi task and prioritise work Have a passion for technology Willing to learn **Previous experience in these fields would be an advantage**: Help desk roles Working in retail environments Proven customer service experience Maintenance of Windows operating systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills **This position would benefit from an applicant having**: A personal portfolio of previous work performed A strong attention to detail and accuracy Be able to celebrate when time to, and focus when required A few good puns up their sleeve If you would like to work for a leading discount retailer where initiative is admired, individualism is respected and career opportunities are great, then select the "Apply" button to submit your cover letter and resume.
