**About the Role**:
Our client, Foodbank, is seeking a Work Health Safety and Environment (WHSE) Officer to play a vital role in, reviewing, establishing, and maintaining the best safety at all Foodbank WA sites to ensure their employees, volunteers, and visitors are provided with a safe environment. To meet this responsibility, the WHSE Officer will need to be proficient in all related areas of work health and safety, preferably with experience in the logistics industry.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Providing advice to the Leadership Team on WHSE, risk, and injury management specifically in relation to Workcover WA
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing all FBWA work health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Ensuring risk assessments are completed, regularly reviewed, and up to date
- Monitoring and reporting on WHS performance
- Leading safety incident investigation and post-event reporting
- Providing training to staff on WHS activities, risk assessments, and incident investigation
- Evaluating workplace safety practices and identifying areas for development
- Conducting reviews of Material Handling Equipment processes and procedures
- Reviewing all working environments including ergonomics as required
- Reviewing and maintaining monthly safety reporting metrics.
- Developing and leading workplace wellness initiatives to support a great workplace culture

**Job Requirements**:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will have the following:
**Essential**
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health Safety and Environment
- A minimum of three years experience working in a similar role
- A proven track record of implementing compliant WHS practices
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience working with and operating an online WHSE system
- Highly resourceful team -player with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
- Willingness to travel to regional WA and visit Foodbank sites to conduct inspections and develop local teams’ awareness of safety
- Experience in managing workplace injuries (desirable)

**Other Requirements**
- Be an Australian Citizen/ Permanent Resident with valid Australian work rights.
- Current and valid WA driver's license
- National Police clearance (or the ability to obtain one)
- COVID vaccinations up to date with relevant certificates
- Willing to obtain a medical assessment of current health
