**Role Summary**:
The Head of Health, Safety and Environment is an exciting opportunity in our People, Strategy and Social Value business unit based at our Perth CBD office.

The position is part of senior leadership in People Strategy and Social Value and plays an integral role in the strategic planning of this business unit.

The role is accountable for leading, managing and continuously improving health, safety and environmental systems, processes, and practices to ensure Synergy provides both physical and psychosocial safety in the workplace while protecting and eliminating harm to the environment.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Manage and continuously improve corporate health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) management systems to support strong employee and contractor safety practices, behaviours, and outcomes
- Ensure the health, safety and environment is at the forefront of decision making; conducting business in a manner that protects employees, the environment, stakeholders, customers, and communities
- Develop, manage, and continuously improve the corporate environment management system to ensure leaders, employees and contractors understand their accountabilities and improve performance
- Be a leader in the psychosocial risk management framework and work collaboratively with the HR teams in identifying risks and implementing successful strategies in reporting and managing hazards
- Lead and direct a contemporary, holistic, and strategically aligned wellbeing strategy

**What you’ll bring**:

- Tertiary qualifications in related Health, Safety and Environment field
- Great experience in health, safety & environmental management of heavy industry business, preferably power station assets or similar. Strong track record of environmental stewardship, compliance, and practice development
- Comparable experience in health, safety & environmental assessment, environmental reviews, environmental management and licensing/permitting
