Seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety Officer to support the WHS Manager in a State Government Dept
**Your new company**
A major State Government health department based in Perth CBD, are seeking an experienced Work Health Safety Officer to join a busy team. You will be required to work full-time hours, with flexible working arrangements on offer. This will be an initial temporary engagement, with view of extension for the right person.
**Your new role**
As the WHS Officer you will be responsible for multiple duties, including
- Managing non-complex Workers’ Compensation claims and Return to Work Programs
- Supporting the HR team in the management of Fitness for Work cases
- Conducting simple hazard and incident investigations
- Coordinate the workstation assessment process
- Responsible for coordinating the recruitment of the WHS volunteer roles
- Coordination and promotion of wellbeing activities across the department
- General administration support to the WHS committee
**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be considered for this role, you will display the following;
- Demonstrated experience in managing worker's compensation claims and Fitness for Work cases
- Practical understanding and knowledge of the OSH and Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
**What you'll get in return**
You will be engaged on a full-time basis, on an initial temporary contract. You will be required to work full-time hours in a close knit team, with flexible working arrangements on offer for the right person.
