NDE Solutions is a leading provider in specialised inspection services to the Oil and Gas, Mining, Power Generation and Construction industries.

NDE Solutions is currently seeking suitably qualified Plant Inspection & NDT Metallurgy Specialist (Metalurgical or Materials Technician Specialist 312912), who is experienced, committed and enthusiastic, to become part of our team.

This is a full-time, National role.
- Experience and knowledge in the Oil and Gas, Mining, Power Generation, and Construction industries. Specific experience to BHP sites is preferred.
- A strong team work ethic and ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external clients
- Enthusiasm and drive and a keen attitude towards learning and generating innovative processes
- Interpreting and evaluating NDT results in conventional and advanced PAUT and TFM methodologies in terms of the applicability towards which the examination and testing was carried out - this includes the evaluation of NDT results in accordance with existing codes, standards, and specifications.
- Implement newly approved NDT techniques and assist in establishing acceptance criteria when none are otherwise available.
- Advanced familiarity with other appropriate NDT methodologies through continuous research or other appropriate approved means.
- Capable of training and examining NDT Level I and II personnel for certification in the chosen methods.
- Carry out and supervise tasks at all Levels: trainee, Level I, Level II and Level III.
- Provide guidance for NDT personnel at all levels.
- Proactively improve NDT and other processes and product quality to increase the probability of detection (POD) and confidence factor of applied NDT methodologies using best quality practices.
- Establish a framework for gathering and synthesizing data to effectively detect and solve quality issues to prevent recurrence using appropriate non-destructive testing strategies, tools and techniques.
- Aid in all phases of project development from designing, fabricating, and specifying methods and techniques to guarantee product authenticity and durability**.**:

- Ensure all legal and corporate requirements are met (ASME Codes, Saskatchewan Act and Regulations, NBIC, CSA B51, Quality Management System, Quality Control Manual, Functional Specification, Boiler Inspection manual Run/Repair/Replace Program, SAP (Systems Applications and Products) and Quality Control Data Base.
- Support Quality Assurance requirements during Outage activities.
- Complete overhaul welder testing as required.
- Review, inspect and approve repairs and alterations to pressure equipment in accordance with the Quality Management System.
- Perform pressure equipment (including pressure piping) and pressure relief device periodic inspections. Record findings on the Inspection reports.
- Perform inspection of pressure equipment (including pressure piping), repairs, alterations, and new construction.
- Perform internal and external inspections to determine if a weldment of equipment meets the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document
- Schedule and coordinate inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the fixed equipment of the facility
- Review and approve reports, findings, and conclusions of NDT examinations
- Determine and schedule path forward activities to address in field test results in compliance with API standards
- Recommend and approve repairs as well as performing visual inspection of completed work
- Cooperate with personnel of the Maintenance and Engineering Department on problems of scheduling, methods of repair, materials utilization and in arranging special inspection and advice on inspection requirements, corrosion allowances, access provisions, etc. for new designs
- Request the services of the Materials Scientist and the Reliability Engineer for Fixed Equipment on critical and unusual problems involving the cause, seriousness and prevention of corrosion or other deterioration of plant equipment and also on development of inspection methods
- Serve as the authorized piping inspector for determining that the requirements of API 570 on inspection, examination and testing are met
- Ensure that personnel performing non-destructive examinations adhere to relevant Codes and Recommended Practices as defined in API 510 and 570
