Job Opportunity: Maintenance Fitter

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Wingfield.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that will involve supporting our maintenance team at the Protein Conversion Plant in Wingfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing mechanical support to ensure efficient production operations and contribute to developing a preventative maintenance plan.

Daily Tasks:

  • Conduct routine maintenance of plant machinery to ensure all systems run efficiently for daily production.
  • Identify needs for machine major repairs or modification to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Generate work requests when necessary resulting from plant inspections.
  • Promptly attend to mechanical breakdowns as required.
  • Monitor procurement and storage of plant spares and associated systems, and initiate order placements accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work under minimum supervision in a small team.
  • A forklift license is essential.
  • Rendering or Food Industry experience preferred.
  • Relevant Trade Certificate.
  • At least 1 year's experience as a tradesperson.
  • Good command of English both verbal and written.
  • Able to respond calmly and methodically when faced with obstacles.

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in an environment where odour associated with rendering animal products may be present.
