In recent years UNSW IT has implemented a Shared Service capability moving away from a complete federated model of individual IT units operating within Faculties and Divisions. UNSW IT is now entering its next phase of transformation to position itself as a strategic partner and enabler within the University.

The Program Manager will facilitate the delivery of IT projects according to UNSW’s project management and architectural frameworks, delivering high-quality IT services that optimise operating costs over the life of the infrastructure. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering new IT infrastructure that is aligned to the overarching IT Strategy and designed and built according to UNSW engineering standards. The Program Manager will draw on their extensive industry experience and technical knowledge to contribute to communications infrastructure design, ensuring cost effective delivery of high-quality IT infrastructure to time and to budget for all major capital works and large-scale refurbishment initiatives. The Program Manager will utilise strong stakeholder engagement to work in consultation with internal teams within UNSW IT and external customers to specify and manage infrastructure projects involving network, telephony and the deployment of desktop, print and AV services. The Program Manager will maintain collaboration with the IT PPMO to ensure adherence to the defined project delivery framework and is aligned to project processes and lifecycle governance. The role of Program Manager reports to the Head of Infrastructure Portfolio.

**This role will require NV1 Security Vetting requirement.**

**Accountabilities**:

- Lead various IT project teams to deliver multiple projects in a cost-effective manner with high customer focus.
- Act as the single point of contact and point of escalation for all our stakeholders and other business units.
- Lead the development and delivery of a portfolio of large infrastructure projects on time and within budget, identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources to maximise efficiencies and achieve required organisation outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of projects, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, and project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues and assess project progress and overall effectiveness.
- Provide expert advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and implement recommendations to support project delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project priorities.
- Create and manage large project budgets, reporting on budget variances and ensuring budget is on track.
- Manage project resources within budget and maintain financial forecasting for IT PPMO and UPO monthly reporting purposes.
- Identify, manage and resolve business risk, issues and conflicts for projects, developing issue resolution protocols to deal effectively with these matters and maintaining relevant risk registers.
- In consultation with Business IT Services, develop and manage vendor contracts / agreements associated with projects.
- Build collaborative relationships with senior and executive stakeholders across IT and Estate Management to establish effective communication strategies, ensuring open and timely communications at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance and adherence to infrastructure policies, procedures and other documentation required to support the infrastructure environment.
