In the role of Manager (Strategy and Initiatives) you are required to lead and manage a team of policy advisors in the development of evidence based, multi-modal, freight options/ outcomes to inform future policy, planning and investment decision making across the transport system at a national, state and local level. This role is also required to engage regularly with freight industry stakeholders and provide strategic and proactive briefings for consideration of government and senior management.
This role supports TMR to deliver an integrated, resilient and safe multi-modal freight system for Queensland's economy and communities, fostered through innovative solutions to existing and emerging supply chain issues aligned with the Queensland Freight Strategy and Queensland Freight Action Plan.

**Some of your responsibilities will include**:

- Leading and managing the department's strategic freight agenda aimed at developing and effectively operating an efficient multi-modal freight transport system supporting Queensland's economic development.
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with freight industry stakeholders and engaging regularly with these stakeholders to identify and provide strategic advice on emerging freight and supply chain issues and trends.
- Leading and managing the development and review of strategic freight options and outcomes in alignment with the Queensland Freight Strategy and National Freight and Supply Chain Strategy and Action Plan.
- Leading and managing investigation into emerging freight trends globally and domestically, including the adoption/adaption of technologies and environmental, social and governance considerations, to inform future policy, planning and investment decision making.
- Preparing, reviewing and overseeing the development of strategic and proactive briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards to effectively brief the Minister and other senior management on the progress of various policy initiatives and/or projects.
