**Your new company**
Join a Federal Government department focused on providing support to Australian veterans, active service members and their families. You will work within a team who provide specialised, goal oriented case management aimed at streamlining communication between the Department, external stakeholders & services and clients.

**Your new role**
You will utilise your case management experience to support clients and their families in challenging circumstances.

Duties will include:

- Provide a primary point of contact to manage clients and/or coordinate access to services.
- Provide an escalation point for clients at serious risk of harm to themselves or others.
- Provide specialised case management and/or clinical expertise and advice to support and enhance the work of the Complex Case Managers.
- Manage a limited caseload of highly complex clients.
- Assist clients to access the required information and support services for their psychological and physical health, and medical needs.
- Undertake complex case reviews with staff across the branch, utilising professional expertise to make sound recommendations for case management, escalation or closure.
- Contribute to the preparation of high level client summaries and briefs, including maintaining high quality documentation.
- undertake a range of client assessments including intake and risk assessments.
- Escalation of high risk and high profile issues through leadership as required.
- Provide clinical advice and coaching support to colleagues and other DVA staff, as required, to assist in managing challenging client presentations and risk escalations.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Experience in triage, assessment and case management via telephone is essential as is a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and a current police check (or the ability to obtain one).

Demonstrated experience working with military or veteran mental health services as well as supporting clients through substance abuse, mood and anxiety disorders will be highly advantageous as will registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration with AASW. Knowledge of the principles of Trauma Informed Care is desirable as is the provision of reflective practice supervision.
