About the Role
SSI delivers the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the Community Program (PITC) in Sydney and Southwestern Sydney. The program provides Local Area Coordination (LAC) services to assist participants in developing or reviewing support plans as well as extensive work in the community to promote inclusion and opportunities for people to access mainstream service.
Part of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Head of Disability Services, the Manager Community Access will implement key Community Development projects and initiatives. Through developing key partnerships, this position will develop and refine community capacity building activities that lead to inclusion and access outcomes for people with disability.
Leading a team of Community Development Officers in the delivery of the Community Capacity Building CCB, this is a great opportunity for a passionate and experienced leader to innovate and influence great outcomes within the disability space.
About You
You will have demonstrated experience in leading community development initiatives, coupled with strong stakeholder and relationship building skills. As an excellent communicator with a deep understanding of a people-centered approach, you will be someone who thrives in a complex organisational environment.
We are looking for a highly organised professional with sound project management skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities. You will understand the state of play during this period of disability sector reform.
**Essential criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Services, community development, disability, allied health, social work or community services.
- Experience providing leadership in the social and community services sector or related field
- Demonstrated experience leading/supporting a team in delivering community development projects and practical skills in designing
- Proven success in community networking and building stakeholder relationships.
- Strong understanding of the NDIS, scheme reform as well as lived experience or awareness of the impact of disability upon individuals, families, carers, and the community.
- Experience working with vulnerable, hard to reach people and communities.
- Demonstrated commitment to strategic planning, continuous improvement and creating operational efficiencies.
