**Where you come in**:
In this permanent position, part or full time (4-5 days per week, depending on your preference), you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of government engagement plans and developing successful high value proposals for strategically aligned new business with government.
This role sits in our national Strategy and Growth team, working closely with the Group government relations team and 54 reasons Directors in every State and Territory. You’ll be empowered and supported to bring all available levers within the organisation to bear to take our engagement with State government parliamentarians, advisors and officials to the next level.
- You will make an impact by: _
- Developing, executing and monitoring focused government engagement plans
- Analysing emerging policy shifts and trends for implications / decision making
- Supporting effective pre-positioning for high impact opportunities aligned to our service delivery or policy goals
- Providing expert advice on government relations, coordinating key meetings and follow ups
- Developing concise and compelling briefings, proposals, tenders and supporting material for government audiences

You are a clear communicator and exceptional writer with proven success in influencing decision making from within government policy units or ministerial offices and/or a similar role from within the Australia community services sector. - This role requires: _
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in effectively writing for government in briefings, submissions or tenders
- Understanding of government and government decision-making cycles and processes
- Ability to manage up and across with internal and external stakeholders to build rapport and deliver to plan, with excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Highly structured and organised, with sound judgement and a commitment to adaptive and collaborative ways of working
- Previous experience in government policy units or ministerial offices and/or experience in a similar role from within the community services sector
