In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the strategic initiatives for the future state of NAB’s financial crime strategy and engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Supporting the Head of, Executive, and Group MLRO in developing, implementing and managing NAB’s financial crime strategy, setting NAB’s long term vision for protecting our customers, the bank and our community against financial crime risk.
- Driving the execution of the financial crime mitigation strategy, supporting stakeholders with development of delivery plans, supporting development of reporting requirements and providing delivery oversight.
- Supporting the Head Of with setting the agenda for Financial Crime related engagement and communication with internal stakeholders, AUSTRAC and other regulators and industry bodies.
- Co-ordinating and managing requests for information from regulators, providing appropriate review and challenge of prepared responses, ensuring information is delivered in a timely manner to a high standard and meets all policy and compliance requirements.
- Supporting the Group MLRO with raising colleague awareness of the importance of mitigating financial crime risk and building a strong financial crime risk mitigation culture.
- Proactively managing risk, meeting all policy and compliance requirements; adhering to process and procedures pertinent to role; and escalating events, issues, or breaches as they are identified (risk accountability forms part of all roles, as everyone is responsible for managing risk and compliance).
**What you will bring**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a risk, compliance or assurance environment, preferably in financial services and with a focus on financial crime.
- Experience working with regulators (preferred).
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, strong influencing and negotiating abilities, strong emotional intelligence and be highly self-motivated.
- Strong analytical skills, strong planning, time management and organisational skills. Ability to work autonomously and to balance multiple priorities in a fast moving and demanding environment.
- Possess a high degree of business acumen and ability to understand broader business issues, to enable credibility when working with the business.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to influence at a senior level.
- Sound knowledge of financial crime requirements and regulations locally and globally (including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing and/or sanctions and/or Anti bribery and corruption).
- Ability to identify matters that require further analysis and investigation and suggest appropriate actions for risk mitigation.
- Tertiary or post graduate qualifications in finance/commerce/law (preferred).
