**About the role**
We have an opportunity for a **General Administrative Support Officer** to be part of our Sutherland Police Area Command team. The General Administrative Support Officer provides the delivery of efficient and effective general administration, clerical support, and receptionist services with a focus on quality services to commands/business units.
The GASO is a front-line position that is imperative to the Command and the community. It supports the Command with front counter duties, administrative functions including RMS, court. processing duties for Sutherland Local Court and provides quality advice and high-level customer service to members of the public as well as other members of the NSW Police Force.
In addition, GASO’s are also trained as backup for other administrative positions within the Command and are regularly used to cover periods of sick leave, annual leave, etc.
This position supports frontline staff by taking face to face and telephone enquiries from the public at the front counter and providing advice on simple matters, referring any complex matters to a suitable sworn officer. If this role is not performed by a GASO, a sworn officer who is normally deployed to an operational role is required to perform these duties.
As Sutherland Shire PAC has a court, GASO's are required to provided assistance to officers, prosecutors and court staff as outlined in position description. This role is critical to ensure that correct bail conditions are recorded on COPS for the information of operational police.
This is an office based role supporting the frontline. Working from home is not an option.
