**Company Description**
As part of the Dutton Automotive Group of Companies, Classic Throttle Shop is a well-known classic car showroom where people can buy, consign, or sell their classic cars. Located in the famous Sydney Harbour heritage-listed building, the showroom offers arguably the finest selection of cars in the southern hemisphere. Unlike other car dealers, Classic Throttle Shop operates differently, as most of their cars are sourced exclusively through enthusiasts and collectors.
We are currently looking for a dynamic and driven Operations Manager for our Classic Throttle Shop (CTS) in North Sydney. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the success of the site. Your responsibilities will include sourcing both modern luxury and classic used vehicles, as well as developing sales strategies, budgets, targets, and promotions that enable the CTS team to exceed their targets and meet customer expectations.
Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end site operations, ensuring profitability, compliance, statistical reporting, customer retention, and meeting performance standards aligned with the group's key performance indicators (KPIs). Additionally, they will inspire and lead the CTS team to excel in their roles and achieve their objectives.
This role is responsible for the profitability of CTS and also includes hiring and training staff, setting individual and team goals to ensure overall success, and developing effective sales techniques to enhance overall site performance.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
**Sales**:
- Collaborate closely with the CTS Team to achieve business objectives and enhance retail profitability according to the annual budget.
- Lead the development of annual and monthly site forecasts by accurately projecting unit sales, gross profits, and operating expenses.
- Provide a detailed overview of the sales department's daily operations, including sales inquiries, lead qualification, pipeline management, negotiations, deal offerings, sales transactions, deliveries, and settlements.
- Assess the appropriate supply of vehicles and oversee the acquisition of vehicle inventory.
- Conduct thorough reviews of monthly forecasts, commission structures, productivity reports, and profit performance for both the department as a whole and individual sales representatives.
- Monitor aged stock levels to ensure effective inventory management.
- Analyse market conditions, customer demographics, past sales history, and emerging opportunities to provide strategic recommendations for short-term, medium-term, and long-term advertising and sales promotions.
- Establish systems to facilitate ongoing sales training, including the implementation of weekly sales meetings.
- Lead regular sales meetings by providing a structured agenda with topics communicated in advance.
- Manage the Salesforce CRM platform to enhance customer retention and monitor prospective sales opportunities.
- Approve, communicate, and monitor all sales targets and incentives with the sales team.
- Oversee the sales floor, discussing deals, negotiating, and making decisions on individual deal closings for approval.
- Ensure that teams understand site policies, procedures, and sales systems.
**Operations**:
- Ensure compliance and full completion of all deal paperwork, including signed contracts, licensing, company details, trade documentation, settlements, deliveries, final costs, and commissions.
- Supervise signed contracts, licenses, company details, trade paperwork, settlements, and deliveries.
- Ensure the showroom is secure, well-lit, and maintained professionally to create an inviting environment for clients.
- Oversee and enhance the storage experience for clients.
**Marketing**:
- Coordinate the vehicle stock booking process, ensuring timely preparation, photography, description writing, and web advertising.
- Collaborate with external marketing agencies to effectively promote the dealership and vehicle sales across multiple platforms, including the web, electronic direct mail (EDM), and social media.
- Identify and evaluate purchasing opportunities for vehicles on behalf of the company from a variety of sources.
- Coordinate with sales team for the vehicle stock booking process, including preparation, photography, description writing, and advertising on web platforms and Carsales within a prescribed timeline.
**Management**:
- Responsible for the profitability vs budget of CTS.
- Recruit, onboard, and monitor the performance of the CTS team.
- Provide leadership and coach the CTS team.
- Participate in the assessment and review of the CTS team.
- Lead and maintain exceptional customer service and client relations.
- Perform other duties as required.
**Qualifications**
- Passion for the automotive industry
- In-depth knowledge of the used classic and luxury retail vehicle market
- Experience from a previous GM role within the automotive industry
