**The company**: Appreciating Payroll have partnered with a prominent education provider in northern New South Wales. They boast a proud history of providing excellent education services for over 100 years and currently service 18,000+ students.

**The role**: Take yourself out of the hustle & bustle of city life and into the beautiful surroundings of northern New South Wales. Following a recent external review, a newly created position for Payroll Transformation Manager is now available. Based in Lismore/ Tweed Heads and reporting into the Head of Finance, the Payroll Transformation Manager will be tasked with reviewing and transforming current payroll processes, procedures, compliance and systems in order to create a 'best practice' payroll team & environment. You will ultimately be responsible for the design & delivery of a future-state Payroll function... how exciting

Key areas will include:
**Payroll Transformation**
- Define the required future state payroll process.
- Assess end to end processes including controls and audit requirements identifying gaps and making recommendations for future state delivery to key stakeholders.
- Re-engineer and implement new end to end processes, training and mentoring payroll team and People & Safety team members as required to embed new processes.
- Develop, implement and communicate standard operating procedures and guidelines.
- Work with the Project Management Office and vendors to deliver Phase 2 of the payroll project.
- Participate in post implementation reviews and share learnings.
- Guide and mentor the payroll team through the next phase of the payroll project.

**Payroll Governance and Risk Management**
- Establish and lead a Payroll Governance Steering Committee.
- Develop and implement standardised governance and compliance reporting and analytics to monitor risk by the Steering Committee escalating risk to the Leadership Team as appropriate.
- Review relevant industrial instruments with payroll data and review payroll processes and controls to achieve compliant practice.
- Establish, conduct and oversee internal review or periodical audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
- Work with the People and Safety Team to proactively manage and respond to Enterprise Agreement and legislation changes and interpretation and assist the business to respond accordingly.
- Embed processes to ensure all required regulatory requirements are processed efficiently and accurately and paid on time such as portable LSL, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, etc.

**Leadership of Payroll Service Delivery**
- Provide leadership to the payroll team through the provision of oversight and guidance on the end to end payroll service delivery
- Working closely with the Team Leader Payroll to ensure that all end of pay cycle and end of financial year payroll processes satisfy the requirements for accounting, auditing and financial reporting requirements.
- Provide specialist advice, assistance and support to the Assistant Director, Finance and Corporate Services, People and Safety Team and other relevant stakeholders as required.
- Facilitate training, education, collaboration and communication within the Payroll Services Team.
- Build collaborative work relationships and communication flows for the exchange of information between the Payroll and People and Safety Teams.

**About you**: You've been here before, Payroll transformations are what you do, you've even got the t-shirt You will be able to point to previous successful Payroll transformations which include a system implementation of some sort, turning teams around and generally bringing brilliance to every aspect of a Payroll function.

**The offer**:

- $150k - $160k + Super, depending on experience.
- Car provided, or allowance.
- Hybrid working options, but you MUST be able to work in Lismore/ Tweed Heads offices at least 3 days per week, sometimes more.
- 7 hour work day, 35 hour work week.
