About the Role
The Injury Management & Wellbeing Business Partner has a lead role in managing workplace injury and illness, by coordinating effective workplace-based rehabilitation and return to work programs to meet Baptcare’s obligations as required by relevant legislation. The role focuses on ensuring that any injured team members receive the support they need to recover safely integrate back into the workplace - ideally their substantive positions.
The incumbent has a strong customer focus and capacity to follow tasks through to completion, is empathetic in the way they engage with stakeholders, and has a solution focussed mindset.
**Key Duties**:
- Contribute to the execution and continuous improvement of Injury Management policies, standards, procedures, etc
- Assist in the execution of EAP and other Wellbeing initiatives (e.g. RUOK Day) as required
- Proactive management of all aspects of the workers compensation claim process in accordance with state laws to reduce the impact of workplace injury and ensuring that Team members receive their correct entitlements and are aware of their rights and obligations
- Facilitate resolution of workers compensation claims with a strong focus on engagement with Team Members to support safe and sustainable Return to Work
- Coach, instruct and support operational and functional area leaders to effectively execute Injury Management policies, standards, and procedures. including but not limited to:
RTW case management and recovery support for injured employees and managers
Driving the injury and claims management process, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional RTW obligations
Providing coaching and technical expertise to support the RTW Coordinator
Injury Management consultation and issue resolution
Coordination of re-imbursement processes
Coordination of weekly payments processes
Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that we can proactively address emerging issues and develop improvement strategies
Delivery of Injury Management, EAP and Wellbeing activities and initiatives as required
Any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Injury Management & Wellbeing Manager
**About You**:
- Experience in coaching and instructing business leaders in the effective execution of Injury Management policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced stakeholder management skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve sustainable return to work outcomes
- Strong customer focus and capacity to follow tasks through to completion, be empathetic in the way one engages with stakeholders, and have a solution focused mindset
- Excellent knowledge of the Victorian Workers’ Compensation scheme and sound understanding of factors significant to premium management. An understanding of the Tasmanian and South Australian Workers’ Compensation schemes would be highly regarded
- 5+ years’ experience in Return To Work Case Management in an employer based role and / or MDM Case Management
- The ability to travel to Baptcare sites across Victoria as required. Pool car available.
- Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office products
