**About this role**
The role is part of the Brisbane Environment and Biodiversity Team, a growing team with a strong pipeline of work.
The focus of this role is to lead and input to a range of environmental-related projects and associated statutory approvals, either in support of a wider team or as the project Environmental Lead.
This will include National, State and local infrastructure and development projects across a diversity of sectors with a particular focus on transport, water, renewable energy, nearshore and offshore maritime, waste and aviation.
This role will also support the execution and delivery of the environmental business strategy, specifically supporting the continued growth and development of the Arup environmental practice within Queensland and the Australasian region more broadly.
**What will I do?**
- Lead and deliver a range of projects and proposals in Queensland (or the environmental components of multi-disciplinary projects), including large complex infrastructure and development projects mainly in Queensland and support similar projects in other Australian jurisdictions.
- Be responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budgets and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets in your own area
- Represent Arup at internal and external meetings
- Contribute to the development of the environmental team in Queensland, including working with the Team Lead to support and mentor more junior team members
- Take a longer term strategic view of the business and contribute to the development plan of Arup.
- Collaborate with Arup’s Business Leaders to identify opportunities, cross-sell and prepare proposals for external clients.
**What will I bring?**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or similar area
- 15 years or more of relevant industry experience in delivery of environmental assessments and approvals for major projects within a consulting or
- Government business environment
- Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies
- Experience in environmental assessments, planning, approvals and leading project teams.
- Strong technical knowledge within the Queensland market, with sufficient experience and credibility to influence key clients.
