**What you will do as the Environmental Consultant**:
Our Australian environmental team require additional support to deliver a growing portfolio of work in
several sectors, across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. This role will be based in our Brisbane office. We are principally delivering products and services in the water and maritime sectors, including environmental and social impact assessments, baseline studies and data collection, scientific evaluations, and other discrete investigations into understanding the environment and the effects of developments.
You will be an integral part of the Water & Maritime Advisory Group Australia delivery team that is currently working on projects across the environmental, coastal and maritime sectors.
The core responsibility of your role will be to provide overall environmental services support for projects and proposals. Given the diverse nature of our clients and projects, you will be expected to provide your consultancy skills across a range of technical and non-technical services.
Your role will focus primarily on supporting projects through delivery of studies and assessments for a range of project types and settings including coastlines, rivers, lakes and estuaries, water supply infrastructure/reservoirs.
You will be expected to work independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams and you will be
supported by the wider Team, experienced Project Directors, Technical Directors and Principal Engineers/Scientists.
**In your role**:
- To support the delivery of small, medium to large-scale projects under the supervision of a Project Manager and/or direction of a Project Director.
- Provide technical guidance
- Provide consultancy level support, as required, to the team their office base and other area teams where specialism allows
- Make an active contribution to project work, to include field investigations, report writing, organisation, consultation and project management.
- To assist with proposal and contract preparation (client and subcontractors)
- To contribute to the implementation of marketing initiatives that deliver within the overall business development plan
- Represent and promote RHDHV within the market through the preparation of literature, attending meetings, conferences and workshops, etc.
- Sound understanding of Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation and approvals processes and remain up to date with policy and legislative changes
**What you will bring to the team**:
- 4-7 years’ experience in consulting
- Proven technical and consultancy abilities appropriate for the role
- Minimum BSc in relevant environmental disciplines (environmental science, marine science, marine biology, ecology)
- Knowledge of legislation and guidelines relevant to this field
- Knowledge of issues affecting the coastal and marine sector
- Demonstrable experience of EIA, REF or similar environmental assessment
- Report-writing
- Strong communication, organisational and time management skills; and
- Ability to work on own initiative and to work as part of a comprehensive high-quality team
The following experience would be desirable:
- GIS skills
- Field work experience
- Understanding of Marine science/ ecology/ environmental assessment
- Experience in different states and territories (exposure to legislations and policies)
