Hospitality Manager

The Sydney Coliseum Theatre, West HQ is Sydney’s new home for the Arts Breathtakingly beautiful and technically brilliant, the Sydney Coliseum boasts a 2000 seat auditorium, 3 stunning foyers, 7 bars, multiple entertaining areas, VIP room, large rehearsal room and on site commercial kitchen.

Located within the exciting dining, health, accommodation and entertainment destination of West HQ, 5 minutes from the apex of the M7 and M4, Sydney Coliseum Theatre is well positioned to welcome entertainment lovers from Sydney and beyond..

We are now looking for an energetic and experienced Hospitality Manager who has a love for customer service and a genuine interest in theatre to join out team at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre, West HQ.

**About the role**:
This hands-on role requires a passionate people-leader to manage, inspire and develop a large and diverse team of food and beverage team members. This role will see you looking after the catering, food and beverage delivery within the Sydney Coliseum Theatre, ensuring our show riders are catered to, inventory and sales data are monitored, bars and kiosks are appropriately stocked and staffed to welcome our theatre goers.

**Key duties**:

- Ensure the smooth operation of the outlets and supervision of bar attendants during shifts;
- Lead and manage a team who will provide positive experiences for our guests and drive sales;
- work closely with relevant departments to support and execute strategies requiring F&B operations;
- Support Marketing department to engage audiences and guests;
- Manage food and beverage Program, including developing food and beverage menus for performances that are appropriate for show audiences;
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and manage operating costs more effectively;
- Liaise with various departments to plan the culinary related logistics for shows and oversee the readiness of retail areas pre-event;
- Plan, organise and direct a diverse team of food and beverage attendants
- Work on the bars alongside casual staff if required
- Place and receive food and beverage orders to maintain inventory and ensure freshness and quality
- Represent the theatre with enthusiasm and professionalism

**Required Skills & Experience**:

- Developed industry experience including at least two years in a management role preferably in a similar venue;
- An outstanding customer service orientation and strong communication skills;
- A creative eye for quality retail services is advantageous;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build close working relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers;
- A flexible and energetic approach to work to achieve agreed deadlines within tight schedules;
- Experience of budget monitoring and contributing to financial forecasting;
- Strong computer literacy and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems;
- The key to your success will be excellent planning, communication and time management skills, as well as the capability to lead and develop a large team;
- Relevant legislative certification including a valid NSW RSA Competency card and Food Safety certificate is required;
- A very high standard of personal grooming & appearance, and willingness to comply with a grooming policy of a first class venue;
- Have good availability and the ability to work nights and weekends on a standard roster dictated by the schedule for each hosted production.
