**Your new company**
This well known Federal Government Department is seeking an APS6 Governance Officer to join their Division that plays a key role in the planning, management and delivery of major infrastructure projects funded through an Australian Government's Investment Program.
**Your new role**
Your section provides critical governance and risk management functions to the Division you will support. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Driving the work of two executive governance committees that support the First Assistant Secretary in their overarching responsibility to oversee and manage the Division's program and drive improved performance and accountability in managing the Division and projects, and underpins transparency and guidance.
- Supporting a sub committee that provides operational oversight to progress the actions arising from the monthly meetings, and track progress of action items arising from the forums and coordinating across the Division to ensure key outcomes are delivered.
- Delivery of the Division's program which provides assurance that the Australian Government's investment in road and rail is achieving it's policy objectives.
- Providing risk related advise to the Division, maintaining risk registers and providing input into Agency level risk controls.
- Driving divisional improvements to governance and risk management including monitoring and supporting implementation of recommendations arising from audits, reviews and regular assurance.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful for this position you will have previous experience within a similar position and the Federal Government. You will also have excellent communication skills both written and verbally, high attention to detail and organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and the ability to work independently and in a team.
To be considered for this role you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
