This well-known Federal Government Department that provides strategic policy advice, administers regulations and delivers programs and services is seeking an APS6 Coordination/Governance/Secretariat Officer to join a new section in their IT Division due to a recent change/restructure.
**Your new role**
As an APS6 Coordination/Governance/Secretariat Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of projects across the department, ensuring they meet the strategic objectives, quality standards and governance requirements. You will also be involved in:
- Supporting effective working relationships with stakeholders across the department and external partners.
- Drafting standardised communications products, including internal briefings for Senior Executives and meeting papers and project reports.
- Supporting the team to provide secretariat functions to governance bodies, including arranging meetings, drafting agendas, papers and minutes, and tracking action items.
- Monitoring project status progress and ensuring status is captured in relevant reports and dashboards.
- Supporting the team’s understanding of IT Applications through research, where appropriate, and other basic business analysis tasks as required.
- Undertaking activities and/or training to develop knowledge and expertise in relation to project governance, and to enhance professional development.
- Ensuring appropriate record keeping practices are adhered to, and records are saved in a timely manner.
- Contributing to external and internal change management processes with respect to service improvement.
- Contributing to the setting of direction of work priorities and practises.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar role and the Federal Government. You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: secretariat or administrative support, coordination and development of briefing materials.
- The ability to resolve logístical challenges and manage competing priorities, by taking a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues as they emerge, with the support of senior staff.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, capable of preparing high-quality briefings and advice, demonstrating attention to detail and applied proofreading and editing skills.
- The ability to build and leverage effective relationships, by fostering a network of contacts with stakeholders.
- Develop an ability to think strategically, develop situational awareness of the policy environment, identify opportunities to address or resolve issues.
- The ability to contribute to a supportive team environment, actively engage in coaching, mentoring and providing feedback, encouraging career development and fostering collaboration and open information sharing.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
