The Team Leader
- Library and Learning Services is accountable for the development and implementation of strategies and policies in relation to library services. Planning and coordinating services and resources to ensure the seamless provision of Library activities across numerous sites.
The role focuses on ensuring a positive student experience by leading a team of professionals responsible for the delivery of customer focused administration and academic support across key service points and teaching areas, continuously improving these as required. In addition, the incumbent provides specialised advice relating to service provision of research and academic support, copyright, information retrieval and referencing skills within the classrooms or blended learning environments.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Provide dynamic leadership and direction to library staff to ensure that service delivery is efficient, effective and customer focused.
- Recruit and assist in the selection of Frontline and Academic Support staff, coordinating appropriate development activities to ensure that the staff have the necessary qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to fulfil their functional responsibilities;
- Responsible for development and implementation of strategies and polices underpinning Library services across Chisholm;
- Lead and facilitate the development, integration and improvement of the delivery of academic support services across the Institute;
- Lead and continually improve the online library environment, delivering a range of online services and collections that can be accessed online, anywhere, anytime by Chisholm Students;
- Facilitate and support learning by teaching information retrieval skills and reference skills to students and staff within classrooms or blended learning environments
- Using various media, promote opportunities for students to engage across all campuses of the Institute and ensure the development and distribution of library promotional material;
- Undertake regular visits to all sites where library services are provided, to ensure the effective resolution of operational issues affecting the delivery of services;
- Liaise with key stakeholders such as employers, schools and other education providers to explore pathway options for learners
**ABOUT YOU**
You are a highly motivated indivdual with
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative process improvements to systems and processes within a customer service context
- Demonstrated sound and effective interpersonal skills and high-level oral and written communication skills
- Well-developed leadership and team management skills including the ability to gain commitment and cooperation from a diverse range of staff
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and motivate a cohesive team spread across a number of campuses;
- Demonstrated record keeping skills and knowledge of cataloguing procedures and standards;
- Experience with library operations including reference services, cataloguing, accessions and inter-library lending;
- Experience working in digital library environments;_
**Qualifications required for the role**:
- A relevant tertiary library qualification. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative process improvements to systems and processes within a customer service context
