**About the Role**
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of seven enthusiastic programmers (three direct reports, four secondary reports).
- Engage with the Darebin community to creatively and collaboratively develop children’s and youth programs aligned with the Libraries Programming Framework and Council Action Plan.
- Oversee, lead and continuously improve the design, resourcing, delivery and evaluation of children’s and youth Library programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on promotion, partnerships, processes and coordinated programming.
- Demonstrate leadership in the delivery of rostered customer service shifts and provide branch leadership support to ensure the timely resolution of customer, operational and facility issues.
- Agreement to work one evening shift per week as a part of standard hours, and agreement to work a minimum of one rostered Saturday and one rostered Sunday shift in each 8-week cycle. Time in Lieu or additional pay, as relevant, applies to weekend work.

**Skills & Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in library and information management, early childhood, teaching, youth work or community development (or related discipline)
- Relevant customer-focussed experience in a library or community environment.
- Substantial experience in the delivery of community-focussed programs for children and/or young people
- Experience in positive team leadership, development and management
- Creative thinking, high-level organisational skills and a passion for working with and for a diverse community
- The ability to learn and develop new systems of work and to maintain positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders
