**We have an exciting opportunity for an AO3 Paralegal Support Officer**

We are looking for a Paralegal Support Officer to work within a State Government Department located in Brisbane CBD. This supportive and inclusive team is searching for a talent with strong administration and personable skills. This role is a temporary six-month contract with a strong possibility for extension.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
As part of the Department, you will be providing paralegal assistance to the legal team as directed. This may include, but not be limited:

- Filing and serving legal documents on solicitors, barristers, doctors, businesses and other persons.
- Conducting searches for information in various Court Registries, Tribunals, hospitals, businesses, companies.
- Compiling and preparing documents including briefs to experts, mediators or briefs to Counsel, indexes to brief and client files.
- Assisting in the discovery process including - supervision of inspection of documents and inspection of documents.
- Providing copies of documents requested.
- Notation of account fees for copies.
- Generating appropriate correspondence and under supervision, preparing lists of documents.
- Providing administrative support in, trial preparation and assistance at trial and Legal research. Drafting routine correspondence.
- Drafting routine court documentation.
- Arranging meetings, appointments, conferences and interviews as required.
- Maintaining bring-up systems and any other systems that may assist legal staff in their day to day operations.
- Liaising as required with clients, Counsel, legal practitioners, expert witnesses and staff.
- Undertaking administrative tasks and other duties as directed.
- Undertaking own word processing and time recording entry.
- Accurately and responsibly recording client time and achieving billing targets within work constraints.
- Assist with billing process as applicable to your team.
- Comply at all times with the office standards, including - the client service charter, the requirement to meet target of four billable hours on average per day and quality and timeliness measures.

**Job requirements**:

- Minimum of 12 months Paralegal Support Officer Experience
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Experience in a high paced environment
- High level of resilience
- Have strong attention to detail
- Computer skills (Ms Office suite)
