I am currently partnered with the National Head Office of a Federal Government Agency, right here in the heart of the Geelong CBD. I am looking to recruit an APS6 Project Officer for a 12 month temporary assignment, with the potential to extend.

**Your new role**

As the APS6 Project Officer, you will provide detailed, technical, professional, policy and operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. This role may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development for the Agency. Responsibilities include:

- Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
- Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
- Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities
- Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits.
- Contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To succeed as the APS6 Project Officer, you will need:

- Experience in project management tools such as MS Project
- Proficiency in other MS Office products, namely MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Understanding of Project Management methodologies
- Analytical skills - able to analyse large amounts of information from a range of sources
- Strong communication, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks across a portfolio of diverse projects
- Australian Citizenship
