Our client is a large federal government agency. They are seeking an APS6 Project Officer to join on a long term contracting basis within their Home and Living Innovation Branch, and play a supporting role across a range of projects.
- 12 month contract plus 12 month extensions
- Geelong based, with 3 days in the office per week
- Hourly rate of $60.26 plus super

**The role**
As a Project Officer within the Home & Living Group, you will support projects for a business unit focused on the identification, design and delivery of contemporary home and living supports that are effective and efficient for NDIS participants, providers and the Scheme. Your responsibilities will role include but are not limited to:

- Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework
- Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders
- Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities
- Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports
- Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation
- Monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management
- Identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits
- Contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs

**About you**
The successful applicant will have:

- Demonstrated previous experience as a Project Officer/Coordinator/Analyst in large complex environments
- Experience working within a compliance and regulatory framework
- Knowledge of the National Construction Code would be highly desirable
- Skills in managing project plans, schedules, budgets, reporting, and risk management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work in a dynamic environment
- A government background with previous experience in the preparation of briefs and ministerial correspondence
