I am currently partnered with a Federal Government Agency in the Geelong CBD who is seeking an APS6 Internal Review Officer for their Internal Review and Complaints Branch.

**Your new role**

As the APS6 Internal Review Officer, you will work standard full time business hours from Monday to Friday on site in Geelong VIC.

You will be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities, requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

The APS6 Internal Review Officer will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. It may liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the Agency.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Working closely with prospective participants and participants to understand the nature and context of their request for a decision to be reviewed.
- Making evidence-based review decisions in line with frameworks, as prescribed in the Act, rules, Operational Guidelines and policies.
- Communicating effectively with participants and their representatives to explain reasons for decisions, the review and appeals process and available options.
- Monitoring and managing caseloads and ensuring internal reviews are completed within a timely manner.
- Collaborating with team members to share and develop specialised knowledge in areas of expertise.
- Contributing to quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery practice, processes and systems.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To succeed in this role, you will need:

- Experience leading or managing a team and team workflows
- Experience in Case Management or Review would be advantageous
- Experience in a Government setting
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office
- Exceptional communication, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated experience making evidence-based decisions

**Please note, to be considered, you will need:

- Australian Citizenship
- Provide proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status
- Complete a work sample assessment (roughly 1 hour to complete)
