If so, you may be well suited to our role as a Supply and Billing Discrepancy Clerk within our Support Office Foreign Military Sales (FMS) business unit located in the vibrant Melbourne CBD.FMS is the US/Australian program for acquiring military capability form the United States Government. Our Melbourne office is responsible for providing support to the 500+ agreements that are presently in place with the United States Government.
The Supply and Billing Discrepancy Clerk is responsible for initial investigation and assessment of discrepancies with items acquired from the United States. As you gain experience, you will be responsible to address billing discrepancies with the dedicated errors team to ensure Defence can achieve value for money from the United States agreements.
As a valued member of the Support Office FMS, the successful applicant will also be an integral team member to contribute to the transition of supply systems as Defence upgrades to an SAP operating environment.
**About our Team**
The Support Office FMS is an integrated office, delivering support to the Project Offices and System Program Offices that procure and sustain FMS products.
The office acts as a centre of knowledge for FMS users where improvement of FMS processes and user experience is our primary role.
As the Supply and Billing Discrepancy Clerk you will be required to complete a range of key competences. Communicating and Networking
We are looking for a team member that is an excellent communicator and is able to establish effective relationships with our contractors, uniform and APS staff to ensure reliable and responsive supply chain discrepancy remediation.
Procurement In the context of your role you will not be required to manage procurement activities; however, a knowledge of Defence or Government procurement will be well regarded.
Commitment to compliance - We are looking for a Supply and Billing Discrepancy Clerk who can develop a working knowledge of FMS agreement terms and conditions applicable to discrepancies, while adhering to the agreed Australian and United States procedures.
Reporting
- We are looking for a team member who has experience in reporting and compiling basic statistical reports, with some qualitative analysis as you increase your experience in our work area.
Data entry skills - We are looking for a team member that is confident with processing information separately (though not concurrently) into multiple systems and assisting our large customer base with their data entry.
Writing Experience - We are looking for a team member that has writing skills that can be honed to Defence writing policy and procedures. You will be supported while developing your writing to meet Defence standards.
