The Manager, Employee Relations Rail, is accountable for leading the delivery of specialised and effective human resource practices through the coordination of an expert advisory and consultancy service across PTSA. This role will drive the development of workforce strategies and the associated organisational culture by leveraging workforce insights, accurate and well-maintained data, analytics, trend analysis and benchmarking across the sector.
This role will lead a team of human resource and employee relations professionals to effectively resolve complex people matters, including managing employee performance, suspected misconduct, excessive absenteeism, medical cases, and grievances, in alignment with legislative obligations.
Additionally, the role will lead the creation of a performance culture by effectively coaching leaders through case management, supporting resolutions informed by business objectives, employee experience, and the assessment and mitigation of human resource and safety-critical risks.
The Manager, Employee Relation Rail, will develop innovative processes and ensure feedback is sourced from key stakeholders to identify the priorities and service deliverables for the team. The role will directly influence, advise, and collaborate with executive and senior management across the Department and liaise with other agencies and the Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment on specific matters.

**Qualifications/Experience**
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or a related field, or relevant experience in said discipline areas will be highly regarded.
Demonstrable experience working in industrial relations in a highly unionised environment.
**Special Conditions**
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
**Remuneration**
ASO8 - $121,107 to $125,679 pa + superannuation.
