The Network Safety Investigator is responsible for leading independent investigations into high severity incidents, either as an individual or in a team, in consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Analysis of safety data against Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and reporting to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis is also a requirement of the role.

The role will be the interface with key regulatory authorities and will manage regulatory correspondence, reporting and communications.

Are you a safety-focused professional with expertise in the rail operations environment with a sound knowledge of the _Rail Safety National Law (South Australia) Act 2012_, WH&S Act and Regulations, and other relevant legislation, policies, and safety management systems?

**Education / Licences**
Mandatory:
A current driver’s licence.

Desirable:
Tertiary educated in investigation practices and/or sound experience in ICAM lead investigations is highly regarded.

**Special Conditions**
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

This position has been identified as a Rail Safety Worker and has been classified as Category 3 Non-Safety Critical Worker.

All Rail Safety Workers must carry out their duties in accordance with the _Rail Safety National Law (South Australia) Act 2012_ and as outlined within the Rail Commissioner’s Safety Management System.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

**Remuneration**
ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413 pa + superannuation.
